Writing
is one of the most rewarding and effective methods of communication. This
is evident from the Holy Scriptures written by men inspired by the Holy
Spirit. Until this day, we are rewarded because God chose to communicate
His truths to us in written form.
There
are many reasons for writing, but the primary purpose for writing this book is
to inspire you. The letters in this book are useful for personal reading
pleasure as well as writing to others. They are sincere expressions from
my heart to minister to the emotional and spiritual needs of the reader.
They will minister comfort and encouragement so that you may have the stamina
to overcome the everyday challenges of life. They also serve as a guide
to express your concerns, heartfelt thoughts, and feelings toward others.
In John
16:33, Jesus made it very clear that we would have difficulties in this
life. The troubles we experience affect us emotionally, physically, and
spiritually. Our need for appreciation, comfort, encouragement, and love
becomes greater when we face the unpleasantness life can bring. Yet,
Jesus said, "...be of good of cheer because I have overcome the
world."
I will
be the first to admit that it is impossible to be cheerful in the midst of
tragic circumstances, death of loved ones, and the overwhelming burdens that we
sometimes bear. Nevertheless, with God all things are possible.
Jesus understands our weaknesses, hurts, disappointments, and pains. He
desires that we never lose focus on Him, and what He accomplished for us
through his death and resurrection. We can only be victorious through
Him! Through consistent spiritual management we can deal with any crises
we may face in this life. Through faith and hope in Jesus Christ, the
application of God's Word in our life, and the expressed support of others, we
can make it through anything!
However,
encouragement and consolation are more prevalent when we are confident that
others love us, appreciate us, think about us, and care about our
wholeness. The only method of making it known to others is through
communication. Therefore, I have
compiled this book as a resource to guide you in letting others know that you
appreciate them, love them, and desire that they prosper in every aspect of
life. The best way to do that is write them a letter whether handwritten,
the old-fashion way, electronically via E-mail, it will communicate your
concern and best wishes during their triumphs or tragedies. However you
choose to send it, let someone know you care...encourage them... commend them
for the work they do.
Due to
the advancement of technology in the twenty-first century letter writing could
become obsolete and overlooked as a ministry of encouragement. However,
it is one of the most rewarding ministries—one that is needed in this day and
time.
It is
my earnest prayer that these letters and short notes will add a personal touch
to cheer you and others onward to victory, giving glory to God the Father and
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
From my heart,
