"...I remember you in my prayers night and day,
greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears... Therefore, I remind
you to stir up the gift of God which is in you.."
—II Timothy 1:3-6
Paul's letter to Timothy is the
perfect example of a letter of exhortation (encouragement). He writes as
Timothy's spiritual father, exhorting him in the things of God. This
letter is the inspiration that Timothy needs to fulfill his responsibilities as
a servant of the Most High God.
Encouragement is one of the
greatest needs in society. Everyone needs it. Life's challenges can
sometimes be overwhelming even for believers, not to mention unbelievers.
It is our responsibility as instructed in the Word of God to encourage (exhort)
one another. It is amazing what just saying, "Be encouraged"
can do for an individual on the verge of giving up hope! Try it! Send Letters of Encouragement to
someone today.
