"Now I plead with you, brethren, by
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that
there be no division among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in
the same mind and in the same judgment."
—I Corinthians 1:10
The Church at Corinth was
plagued with problems and unanswered questions. Apostle Paul wrote this
letter in response to those problems, concerns and questions of the believers
at Corinth. He shared words of advice to promote a spirit of unity among
the brethren. His recommendations were that Jesus Christ be relevant in
every area of the believer's life; and that the application of Christian
principles be evident in the lifestyle of the believer.
Letters of Recommendation are
written for the purpose of promoting Christian principles into the life of the
believer regardless of the situation, circumstance or condition he or she
faces. As believers we must find ourselves promoting unity in body of
Christ; therefore, our counsel, advice and recommendations must reflect good
sound biblical teaching.
